Mount Woodson Golf Course which is a Schmidt-Curly design is one of Southern California's best golf courses. The Mount Woodson Golf Course offers a challenging round of golf in a a natural setting that is truly breathtaking. The fairways are set amongst very old and large oak trees, huge granite boulders and several beautiful lakes. Golf Digest describes Mt. Woodson Golf Club as one of the "most beautiful, unique courses in California" noting the amount of care taken to preserve its look and the plentiful panoramic views of San Diego's countryside.
Clearly one of Southern California's most enjoyable courses to play, the Mount Woodson Golf Courses is well known for the many steep changes in elevation throughout the course. The elevation changes have resulted in some fitting hole names such as the "Drop Off," "Tree Tops," "The Chute" and "The Plunge." The course is truly designed for the traditional shot making golfing game, where accuracy is rewarded.
One of the centerpieces of the course is a historic 1921 estate that is now known as the "Mount Woodson Castle". This fantastic architectural structure is one of the earliest examples of the California arts and crafts movement.
Take I-15 north to the Scripps Poway Parkway east exit. Follow Scripps Poway Parkway till it ends at Highway 67. On Highway 67 turn North and then make a left on Archie Moore. Follow Archie Moore straight to Mount Woodson Golf Course clubhouse entrance on your left.
