Old Globe Theatre
Old Globe Theatre is the home to California's oldest professional theater organization. With regular shows performed year round you can always catch a great performance. The Old Globe Theater Located in the middle of Balboa Park just west of the Museum of Man. The Old Globe was built in 1935 for the California Pacific International Exposition which presented abridged versions of Shakespeare's plays. The Old Globe itself has won international acclaim and a Tony Award. About 15 plays are produced each year including the popular Summer Shakespeare Festival. Some of the high quality productions have become world premier plays that have gone on to be hits on Broadway.
Performances: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
Box Office opens at noon every day and closes at the beginning of the last performance each day.
