Qualcomm Stadium
The 71,000 seat Qualcomm Stadium is the home to a professional football team and a collegiate team. A popular stadium known as "the Q", Qualcomm was originally known as Jack Murph Stadium in honor of San Diego's infamous sports writer. The National Football League San Diego Chargers play their home games at Qualcomm. The popular local San Diego State University football team, known as the SDSU Aztecs, play here as well. The stadium is also used for the annual Holiday Bowl which is a college football bowl game. An expansive parking lot surrounds the stadium that is used for many purposes such as car sale shows, emergency evacuation, and tailgating.
Qualcomm Stadium is easily accessible from three different highways and from the San Diego Trolley. The trolley stop is one of the most efficient ways of arriving at the stadium as it takes you right near Gate K in Section J of the Qualcomm parking lot. Not only is riding San DIego's "moving landmark" a nice treat, but riding the red light rail trains makes getting to crowded events easy and hassel free.
