San Diego Writers Block
One of my favorite places in San Diego to hang out is Writer's Block. For San Diego youth's Writer's Block offers an opportunity to legally practice their graffiti art in a place designed for just that purpose.
Writers Block Location
Writer's block located at 5010 Market Street about 10 minutes East of downtown San Diego is a place for young people to gather after school and on weekends to create amazing works of art using cans of spray paint.
Writers Block Experience
It was hard to imagine what to expect the first time I went here, but I was pleasantly surprised with the sophisticated artwork being created at this unique environment. In about an hour my wife, sister and some or our friends managed to tag a saying on the wall. We obviously were not as talented as some of the other amazing graffiti artists that had tagged the other walls, but our collective effort resulted in something we were all impressed with, and totally amazed that we could do this so easily. The fun and unique Writers Block experience tapped into our creative energies that resulted in something we were all proud to be a part of.
Consisting of rows of hung up sheets of plywood that fill up a couple of acres on a rather large lot, anyone has a chance to bring their own paint and create a design. San Diego's Writerz Block is a one of a kind thing as most cities would never think of having a place to allow youngsters to legally practice and express themselves artistically. Obviously this scene may not be for everyone, but if your interested in unusual artwork or have always had a craving to spray paint than you may want to check this place out. Those who tag a wall, slang for spray painting, at the well known writers block in San Diego have seemingly found the perfect place to do it without worrying about getting arrested.
